The Guiding Development Team offers training and support for Leaders

The Guiding Development Team is responsible for ensuring that all leaders are offered training and support in their role as well as organising activities that allow girls to experience Girlguiding at County, National and International level.

The team is organised by the Guiding Development Adviser and is made up of the following advisers:

  • First Response
  • Arts
  • International
  • Outdoor activities
  • Outdoor Residential
  • Indoor Residential
  • Additional Support together with LQ co-ordinator and verifier
  • A representative from each Section is also part of the team

The team ensure that leaders are aware of any new developments or changes to the programme. Training is organised at County level, although sometimes split into smaller sessions at District level.

Training can be organised to meet whatever needs leaders have  – for example First Response, Accounts, Outdoor Activities, Programme planning and much more. County events for each Section are organised either annually or biennially. These can be competitions such as the County Shield for Guides or Brownie Sports or fun days.
